Unity & iManage Integration for File Management

by Sigmarie Soto Updated on

Customers using iManage for document management can integrate their iManage Workspaces with Unity. This article covers the setup requirements for connecting iManage with Unity.

Onit Sets Up iManage Connection

To get started, contact [email protected] to enable external document management in your environment. Once enabled, Unity can be connected to iManage via their web application. The following information is required to complete this setup:

  • iManage Customer ID
  • iManage Default Database (i.e., default library)
  • iManage Server Hostname

Setting a Default iManage Template

To allow users to start connecting individual matters to iManage, an admin must first set the default iManage template in Unity to create the file structure that will be used for each new matter.

Follow the steps below to set the default iManage template:

1. Go to Settings > Matter Templates.

2. Add an iManage Workspace under iManage Templates to create the file structure.

NOTE: Third-party document tool integrations cannot be used in combination with Unity's internal Document Management System (DMS). If your company is currently using our DMS for matter files, the integration option will not available.
