Activity Logs

by Sigmarie Soto Updated on

Unity eBilling records most activity and updates made by users and automatically by the system. This is an effective way to admins to investigate issues related to invoices or other system configurations. For example, an admin can use the Activity Log to determine who adjusted a specific record or invoice validation rule. This can be accessed by going to Settings > Activity Logs.

Note: These User Guides will be updated as more features are added and revised. Check in frequently for more information.

The Activity Log shows the following columns of information:

  • Date: Date the activity took place (e.g., date a change was made or a user was created).
  • Time: Time the activity took place (e.g., time a change was made or user was created).
  • Actor Name: First and last name of the user who initiated the activity.
  • Category: Activities are grouped into various categories, such as Transaction Phase Change (i.e., invoice status update), Added New Participant (i.e., assign invoice reviewer), or Updated Project (i.e., record modification).
  • Description: Brief description of the activity, including relevant names/email address and value changes (e.g., John Smith started timekeeper approval process for Eddie Brock). Click the carat to expand the description text.
  • Object: The type of record that was created, changed, or otherwise modified (e.g., Invoices, Invoice Reviewer Rules, Invoice Line Items, Matter Allocations, Purchase Orders, Legal Entities, Custom Attributes, etc.).
  • IP Address: IP address of the user who made the change or initiated the activity.

You can do the following from the Activity Log:

  • Re-sort the table in ascending or descending order by clicking on a column name. By default, activities are sorted by date in descending order (most recent first).
  • Change how many activities are shown per page by clicking on the Viewing dropdown; select 10, 25 (default), 50, or 100.
  • Enter keywords into the Search field above the log to narrow the list.
  • Use the Category or Name filters to narrow by more specific criteria.
  • Click + (Columns) option at the far-right of the table to hide default columns or change the order shown. Click Apply.
  • Click Download Data in the top-right corner to export the current view as an Excel file.
