This article will provide a breakdown of all product releases/updates for 2026, sorted by product and chronological order. These will be updated monthly.

OnitX ELM
Q1 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • Line-item numbers listed in the Excel invoice export now match the line-item numbers displayed on the UI.

Configuration Required - May Require Services

New Features

General File Sharing: General File Sharing introduces a secure, centralized capability within our Vendor Portal that enables clients and vendors to exchange key operational documents within the system. With this new functionality, both clients and vendors can upload, review, and maintain visibility into shared documents tied to their business relationship.

This enhancement addresses a long-standing gap in legal operations where foundational agreements and documents are often managed through disconnected email threads or external portals. These fragmented processes create inefficiencies, increase compliance risks, and reduce transparency.

Ultimately, this capability strengthens operational alignment, enhances compliance, and builds trust between corporate legal departments and their outside counsel while reducing administrative overhead and improving user experience.

Enhancements

  • Timekeeper Rates Card navigation link is automatically shown or hidden depending on the “Timekeeper Rates” toggle from ELM Configuration.
  • Added the “Estimate Spend” field to the vendor onboarding notification.
  • Added a column to the Invoice Grid page that displays a “Yes/No” indication for Spend Agent review.
  • Added safeguards to reduce the possibility of a duplicate vendor being requested and set up.
  • Adjustments to the Fee Arrangement Change workflow.
  • Cost-saving metrics are now displayed in the Spend Agent insights section on the invoice review page.
Q2 2026

    • Clicking on “Export Grid" allows users to export the Line Item Grid in Excel or CSV format for further data analysis.

  • Removed the “Request Budget from Vendor” business rule that automatically fired in the VATM app on transaction creation, simplifying that workflow.

  • Removed the “Reopen BAR” button from Billing Authorization Requests. BARs are now reopened from the VATM record, which correctly reopens both the BP and AB records and keeps billing availability status accurate for clients.

Unity ELM
Q1 2026

New Feature: Unity ELM

Unity ELM provides legal operations software to streamline the way corporate legal departments manage their matters, track and interpret spend, and collaborate with law firms and other vendors. By combining e-billing, matter management, accruals automation, and advanced reporting into a single, comprehensive solution, we centralize the functions and data necessary to make informed decisions and manage your entire legal department more efficiently. For more information on Unity ELM, read our user guide here.

Configuration Required - May Require Services

New Features

  • Ask Unity: Ask Unity is an AI-powered data exploration tool designed to revolutionize how legal operations teams interact with their legal data. Unlike traditional dashboards or static reports, Ask Unity lets users ask questions in plain English and receive intelligent, data-driven responses in real-time. The tool supports a variety of use cases, from quick ad hoc queries to more complex financial analysis.
  • Spend Agent: Onit's Spend Agent reviews invoices submitted by vendors against natural-language billing guidelines uploaded by Onit clients for each vendor. It instantly reviews invoices, providing detailed AI summaries to clients within Unity, enabling them to make highly informed decisions on approving or disputing invoices, or allowing users to choose whether the AI automatically approves or disputes invoices as they come in.

Enhancements

  • Invoices Design Update: The invoice details page is updated to more quickly surface relevant information and actions for reviewers. This includes displaying the approve/reject buttons at the top of the details page, showing relevant attribute/amount information at a glance, and separating line items and other relevant data into tabs for better usability.
  • Assigning Invoice Reviewers and Followers on Records: The following records include a new Reviewers tab to separate the modal for assigning and managing reviewers and followers (also known as subscribers): Matters, Vendors, Legal Entities, and Practice Areas.
  • Manage Columns and Filters: The following list pages have a new Manage Filters button so that users can hide/reorder default filtering options: Matters, Invoices, Vendors, Budgets, Tasks, and Timekeepers. In addition, all list pages have the option to hide/reorder default columns (i.e., + Add Columns button at the far right of the table view).

  • The invoice tax display is updated to show multiple tax layers (codes, rates, amounts) when applicable in an expandable hover format on the invoice details page.
  • Introduced withholding tax functionality, allowing vendors to submit invoices with withholding tax and display the tax impact.

Enhancements

  • CounselGO now accepts LEDES XML 2.0.4, 2.1.4, 2.0, and 2000 formatted invoices.
  • Onit communication emails now come from the unmonitored [email protected] address, not [email protected].

  • Added flag icons, descriptions, and other information to the Line Item edit modal on the Invoice Review page.

July 2026

Available on Release

New Features

  • Unity ELM now supports invoice-level tax details passed from Counsel Exchange so clients can clearly see taxes applied to an invoice. Invoice-level discounts are also supported, and related financial dashboard and reporting calculations have been updated accordingly. (Note: Released July/August)
  • Timekeeper rate management now includes in-product rate adjustments, allowing admins to update proposed rates with an effective date and reason directly on the record. Timekeeper rate records also support their own comments, activity, participants, vendor notifications, and adjustment history for more complete review and collaboration.

Enhancements

  • The matter details page now provides a larger editing area for long-text fields such as Matter Description. This makes it easier to review and update longer content directly within the edit window.
  • Invoice numbers on the invoice details page now display more completely instead of being truncated at 16 characters. This improves visibility for longer invoice identifiers while making better use of available page space.
  • Custom attributes now support a multi-select field type. This allows users to choose more than one value for a single attribute and supports alphanumeric entries for added flexibility.
  • Favorite or starred records are now available for additional record types in Unity. Users can quickly access important invoices, matters, and vendors from their environments using the same saved-record behavior already available elsewhere in the product.
  • Enhanced reports can now be scheduled for automatic email delivery to stakeholders on a recurring basis. Steps to schedule reports:
    • From the Reports Settings page, users can navigate to Alerts and Reports and click on Report+ to schedule an enhanced report for automatic delivery at a defined cadence.
    • Users can enter Report Name, Owner, Description and decide whether or not to Activate scheduling.
    • Users can define a delivery cadence as per desired time zones. (Note that enhanced reports are refreshed every 24 hours)
    • Users can choose an enhanced report/chart and enter designated recipient emails under Notification method and click on Add to complete scheduling a report/chart.
  • Three new enhanced reports have been added to Unity ELM to improve actionable reporting and insights.
    • Invoice Reviewer Velocity Report: This report allows clients to get visibility into which reviewers are efficient at approving invoices and identify where there might be bottlenecks to evaluate reviewer performance. It will allow reviewers to get insights into the number of invoices pending with them, invoice totals associated with these pending review invoices, and help them understand how long the review has been pending.
    • Invoices Pending Review Report: This report provides visibility into invoices that are currently awaiting review in the approval workflow. It helps legal operations teams quickly identify invoices that have been pending for an extended period of time and determine where potential review bottlenecks may exist.
    • Invoice Adjustments Report: This report provides visibility into invoice adjustments made during the invoice review process and highlights the resulting cost savings. It enables legal operations teams to understand how much spend is being reduced through invoice review, what types of adjustments are being made most frequently, and which vendors, matters, or reviewers are contributing most to those adjustments.
August 2026

Available on Release

New Features

  • Unity now includes Pro Forma invoice functionality from ELM. This adds the ability to introduce a Pro Forma invoice workflow directly in Unity. Pro Forma invoices are invoices with international taxes submitted by the vendor in a draft state so that the invoice can now be adjusted and the Pro Forma adjustments are reportable. This new workflow can help capture the savings information which is otherwise lost to rejection. (Note: Released July/August). Learn more about Pro Forma functionality with the Pro Forma Invoice user guide
  • Unity ELM now supports invoice-level tax details passed from Counsel Exchange so clients can clearly see taxes applied to an invoice. Invoice-level discounts are also supported, and related financial dashboard and reporting calculations have been updated accordingly.
  • Ask Unity can now work with customer-specific custom attributes configured in a client environment. Users can ask questions about custom attribute fields and generate visualizations from that data, with role permissions enforced.
  • Introduced enhanced commenting functionality between Unity and Counsel Exchange, enabling back-and-forth communication between vendors and clients directly on invoices and Timekeeper (TK) rate requests.

Enhancements

  • The Invoice Attributes tab now displays the PO Description directly below the PO Number. When a PO is selected on an invoice, the related PO Description is populated and shown on the invoice.
  • A Legal Entity Code column has been added to the Allocations tables on both invoices and matter settings. This makes Legal Entity Code visible directly in the table for allocation records in both locations.
  • The invoice action item on the Dashboard now directs users to the My Invoices page. This gives reviewers access to invoice quick actions from the destination page.
  • The Reviewers view now opens in an expanded state by default when an invoice reviewer selects the Reviewers button. This makes reviewer details immediately visible without requiring an additional action.
  • Timekeeper rates now show the expiration date. When an existing approved rate is replaced by a new approved rate, the system displays the expiration date of that rate. Timekeeper tables and downloads now include additional rate and location fields, and the Timekeeper Profile Rates and History tabs now include an Expiration Date column.
  • Pie Chart Suite widgets now support configuration of the legend’s first row behavior through widget settings. This allows the special header-style treatment of the first legend row to be controlled or removed instead of being applied automatically.
  • Changes to global configuration are now recorded in the admin logs table. This adds visibility into updates to settings such as user preference providers and authentication providers, including who made the change.
  • Unity navigation now supports submenus within primary menu items based on configuration. Nested navigation items can be rendered and routed correctly, while existing single-level menus continue to work as before.

Reporting

  • The Unity ELM Financials Dashboard is rebuilt in Superset using a standardized data warehouse dataset and defined calculations for reporting metrics. The new dashboard supports global filters, customizable charts and filters, and export and sharing capabilities, with validation and phased migration from the legacy dashboard.

  • Created a new UI page to show admin users whether the environment has a direct database connection, as well as a list of apps using Shadow Tables.
  • Failures on batched Earn Badge jobs will now be retried for up to 8 hours.

Q2 2026

Available on Release

  • Upgraded major internal framework dependencies to improve platform stability and security.

  • The default text editor has been upgraded to a newer version. It now includes some new features, such as:

    • Improved formatting retention when copying from Microsoft Word

    • Ability to copy and paste images directly into the text area

    • Ability to copy and paste multiple images from Word

    • Note: If you have the Summernote text editor enabled then these new features will not be available until Summernote is disabled. The setting can be found in Admin > Corporation Settings > Features. Although it is generally safe to switch text editors, different text editors can interpret and display custom HTML differently so it is recommended to review any custom HTML you may have after switching.

      • Prior to the 26.2 release, this checkbox was labeled "Enable New Text Editor"

  • New saves for Do Not Require Login time length will be limited to a max of 1 hour. This is to limit the risk of compromised access if the links are unintentionally shared.

Configuration Required - May Require Services

  • New optional security feature for Anonymous Attachment URLs

    • Anonymous Attachment URLs are an existing feature which, when configured, allow a file to be downloaded by anyone with the link even if they are not an Onit user. Generation of the URL allows different timeout values to be set.

    • In order to improve security around these URLs, we have now added a new mechanism to ensure URLs don’t give direct access for too long. If your URL is set to expire longer than an hour then, after an hour, a user clicking the link will see a pop-up screen. They will be able to enter their email address and, if they were the original recipient of the URL, they will receive a new URL to retrieve the file. This helps reduce the risk of links being leaked or forwarded unknowingly.

    • To enable this feature please reach out to your Support team.

July 2026

ContractWorks/SecureDocs/ReadySign
Q1 2026

This can be configured or updated at any time from the account settings page.

May Require License Fee and Services for Enablement

New Features

  • Reprocessing AI Tag Extract: Customers using the AI Contract Extract feature can now rerun the AI tag extract on documents by using the new Reprocess AI option from the Actions menu. This minimizes manual rework in cases when auto-tagging previously failed or when auto-tagging on a document needs to be refreshed. To avoid mistakenly overwriting changes made since the initial tag extract, users will be prompted to confirm they want to move forward with re-extracting data for all AI-generated tags.

  • Auto-Apply Tag Templates to Folders: We are introducing a more streamlined way to apply and manage tags by allowing users to associate templates with predefined sets of tags to specific folders in the document repository so that they are automatically applied to uploaded documents. This is useful for high-volume workflows with data extraction requirements that are specific to document types or unique business needs. When creating one or multiple folders, users can assign specific tag templates (optional) from the dropdown menu for auto-tagging. Tag templates can also be applied to existing folders by using the Assign Template or Change Template options from the Actions menu.

Enhancements

  • AI Limits on Tag Templates: When creating or updating tag templates, admins can now assign a maximum of 20 AI-enabled tags to each template. Once the limit is reached, admins are shown a tooltip message. This limit is being implemented to make sure that AI activity is tied to usage and not just to storage. New AI-enabled tags created from a tag template that has reached its AI limit are stored in the tags library but not applied to the template to avoid any data loss or rework.

  • ContractWorks Premium User Experience Redesign: To improve overall usability and consistency across screens for ContractWorks Premium, we streamlined the UI for the Create & Collaborate section. These enhancements reduce the time it takes to complete key tasks and make it easier to find important information through clearer navigation and filtering, a simplified list view, and quicker access to actions and modals.

  • E-Sign Packet Links: We implemented anti-bot checks on packet links to prevent unnecessary email notifications.

Q2 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • AI Document Chat: ContractWorks' AI Document Chat allows users to quickly gather information about specific stored contracts via natural-language prompts and a conversational flow. This includes AI-generated contract summaries, extraction of specific data points, and brief explanations of clauses and provisions.

  • Support Chat Assistant: The Support Chat Assistant helps answer your ContractWorks “how-to” questions in all supported languages. The assistant is continually learning and helping with self-service; try it first whenever support is needed. If the assistant doesn’t know the answer, it can help you open a support ticket using the information from your conversation. Look for the blue “Get Help” icon at the bottom right side of any screen.

CW Premium - Q2 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • ReviewAI Integration: With Onit’s bi-directional ReviewAI integration, ContractWorks Premium users can now leverage AI-powered contract review and extraction capabilities while maintaining a single source of truth. This provides streamlined workflows for the automatic extraction, update, and syncing of contract data to reduce review time, decrease manual data entry needs, and improve collaboration.

July 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • ReviewAI now introduces an AI-first experience that makes chat the primary interface across the standalone add-in, OnitX CLM Word add-in, and ContractWorks. Users can review contracts, trigger redlines, invoke playbook rules, onboard playbook templates, and update playbooks through conversational interactions without switching screens.
  • The Metrics page in ContractWorks Premium has been redesigned with a more modern and streamlined interface. The update improves visual clarity, accessibility of key information, and overall usability while preserving existing workflows and minimizing disruption to current processes.
August 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • ReviewAI now expands data extraction beyond text to support structured field types such as dates, numbers, currencies, dropdown values, and checkboxes. This enables contract information to be mapped directly into records with greater consistency for intake, reporting, amendment tracking, and compliance review.
  • The Preferences page in ContractWorks Premium has been redesigned with a more modern and streamlined interface. The update improves visual clarity, navigation, and access to key actions while preserving existing workflows.
  • You can now reprocess auto-tagging in bulk for up to 300 contracts at a time within a single folder level. The update uses generative AI to analyze documents and extract contract data, clauses, and other key components, with asynchronous job processing and customer-facing status messaging for batch progress. You can choose between Automatic and Specify template reprocessing. With Automatic, documents will be reprocessed with the template already applied to them. If a document has none, its folder template is used. With Specify Template, all documents will have the selected template applied and used for reprocessing. You can use the Stop processing option at any time during the process to halt the operation.
  • Instituted Virus Scanning on documents for SecureDocs/ContractWorks/ReadySign. This change was made to ensure we enable virus scanning on documents to keep our product secure. Virus Scanning will happen after upload in the background, and the user won't see any change unless the file is marked as infected.
September 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • Non-SSO users in ReviewAI will be able to use multi-factor authentication when signing in, with support for authentication apps and SMS one-time codes. MFA will be required for native logins, and users will be guided through enrollment and secure recovery or reconfiguration when needed.
  • ReviewAI will implement additional enhancements focused on improving the overall user experience.

  • Spend Agent can now automatically calculate and surface recommended monetary adjustments for clear, rule-based variances so that it can confidently apply valid corrections, understand the financial impact of decisions, and streamline invoice review. You can turn Spend Agent Adjustments on under your Settings within a vendor record. You'll see the suggested adjustment pop up when you hover over the Flags on an invoice. You can also click into the line-item to view more Spend Agent adjustment details.

September 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • Reviewing Spend Agent adjustments will be easier and more transparent. Users can jump from a line-level verification finding directly to the relevant invoice line, see the total number of Spend Agent adjustments, identify where each adjustment came from, and filter adjustments by source such as Spend Agent, user-made, or IVR.

August 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

OnitX CLM
Q1 2026

May Require License Fee and Services for Enablement

Enhancements

  • CLM Approver Metrics: To provide Contract Administrators with quick insights on average time for contract approvals, the Cycle Time Dashboard includes two new Tableau report widgets: Average Time to Approve by Approver (bar chart) and Longest Pending Approvals by Approver (tree graph chart). Administrators can click on the arrow in the top-right corner of the widgets to open a list view of the associated contracts and further drill down into the details.

  • Enhanced and Precise Generative AI Redlining for ReviewAI: To further expand AI capabilities for effective contract reviews, ReviewAI users can now choose to trigger add, replace, and delete actions for redlining rules based on natural language prompts. This allows for greater AI-powered modifications originating at contract intake without disrupting the overall document structure while simplifying how users set up their redlining conditions. Additionally, redlines can be more targeted and precise to make phrase- and word-level redlines rather than full paragraph replacements to your contract's text. Based on the selected playbook, ReviewAI users can then review the redlining automatically applied to the document.

  • Checklist Search for Word Add-In: To improve the overall user experience of choosing a checklist from the Word Add-In for standard and AI reviews, we added a search bar that filters as users type to help them quickly find and select the correct checklist.

RFP
Q2 2026

May Require Additional Subscription and Services

New Feature: Unity RFP

Unity RFP offers teams the ability to create detailed Requests for Proposal to law firms and provides a simple way to ingest and analyze the results, including Rate Proposal Analysis capabilities.

Unity RFP:

  • Allows clients to create their own RFP questionnaire from a template and send it to vendors of their choosing by selecting existing vendors or creating new vendors.
  • Provides a "Reverse Auction" option so that firms can provide their best rates and see how those rates rank against other submissions without being able to see the names of the other firms involved in the process.
  • Allows the user to review historical and current RFPs for comparison and trends.
  • Provides automated notifications to vendors when they are awarded a matter, including templates for formal engagement that the client can customize.
  • Fully integrated with the Onit Counsel Exchange; vendors will have an additional RFP option if they’ve been selected for an RFP.
July 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • RFP access can now be controlled through feature flags and credits. The update also adds support for client-specific RFP usage limits, including unlimited allowances, publish restrictions when limits are reached, and reporting on which users have access to each RFP.
  • The RFP interface is updated with revised messaging, renamed labels, and terminology changes so client-facing references consistently use "Request" instead of "Proposal." This update also includes improvements to required field indicators, section visibility, and vendor navigation when viewing or responding to an RFP.
August 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • Expanded Matter Management integration so users can link an RFP to an existing matter or create a new matter during RFP setup. Awarded rates, matter date ranges, phases, and spend details can now be sent to Matter Management.
  • Added support for saving engagement letters as reusable templates with fields for proposal-specific information. Engagement letter templates are now available during RFP drafting, and any engagement letter included in a saved RFP template is preserved with that template.
September 2026

Available on Release

Enhancements

  • Users will be able to review RFP results through two new reports: the award report and overview dashboard, which bring vendor scoring, bidding, and pricing into side-by-side comparisons. This will make it easier to evaluate proposals, understand why a vendor was selected, and track savings, participation, and overall RFP performance across matters. For more information, read the Reporting in Unity RFP user guide.
LSR
Q1 2026

New Feature: Unity Legal Service Requests (LSR)

Onit’s Unity Legal Service Requests (LSR) solution provides customers with a standardized, out-of-the-box intake flow when other teams need help or support from your legal department, such as general legal/policy questions, contract reviews, and patentability investigations. This allows for a reliable workflow that facilitates the capture of requests, simplifies assignment, and allows for status tracking and collaboration.

For example, if the marketing team has created campaign material for the launch of a new product, they can use the Unity LSR portal to submit a review request, assign it a priority and business impact category, enter a requested due date, and attach the communications. Once reviewed by an Intake Admin and approved, the request is assigned to an attorney/analyst for completion and status update.

Unity LSR features include:

  • Out-of-the-box forms for common request types (e.g., Contract Change, Signatory/Authority Request, etc.)
  • Simple queue management for fast triage and assignment
  • User management and role permissions for data visibility control
  • Portal access for requesters to answer questions or submit requested details, track the status, and follow up
  • Visibility for legal team via dashboard and filtering (e.g., action items, due dates, priorities)
  • Ability for assignees to ask for details, add comments, place requests on hold, or add other participants

Enhancements

  • Admin users can now manage request type availability in LSR Settings through a new Request Type Configuration section. Disabled request types are removed from chat and form intake while remaining available for historical reporting and filtering, and existing requests are not changed.
  • Unity LSR now supports rules-based routing by request type so new legal service requests can be directed automatically to the appropriate user, group, or queue. Routing is applied when requests are created through chat or forms, and notifications can be sent through the existing notification framework.
  • The Request Agent experience has been streamlined to reduce unnecessary prompts and rely more on inferred information from user input. It now supports auto-generated titles and descriptions, simplified request submission, prefilled forms for more complex requests, and a review-focused validation experience.
  • Unity LSR now includes a role-based access control and permissions model for more granular management of requests, data, and administrative capabilities. This provides more structured control over who can access and manage different parts of the system.
  • Unity LSR now includes a new Claims request type for structured intake of claims and incident-related requests. It supports guided submission through both forms and the Request Agent while using the existing LSR framework for intake, triage, routing, and dashboards.

Enhancements

  • Unity LSR now includes additional out-of-the-box request types for common legal domains: Employment, Intellectual Property, Product Legal Review, Insurance, and Legal Operations. These new request types provide more specific categorization for intake, which improves routing and reporting across legal requests.
  • Unity LSR now includes integration support for OnitX ELM, expanding connectivity between Unity LSR and OnitX ELM to support cross-platform legal operations.

Enhancements

  • Request forms will be made easier to complete; required fields appear first, optional fields are grouped into a collapsed Additional details section, and the submit controls remain visible while users scroll. Information that requesters are not expected to provide is no longer shown during intake, but legal users can still view and update those fields on the request record.
  • Request type selection will be made simpler for contract and privacy work. Instead of choosing from several overlapping request types, users will be able to submit these requests through Contract Assistance or Vendor / Privacy Request and provide the specific agreement or need through fields in the form.
