OnitX ELM
While there are no new feature updates this month for OnitX ELM, our focus is on Unity UX for ELM. Please contact your customer success manager to discuss the Unity UX timeline if you are interested.
Counsel Exchange
- Includes invoice-processing and line-item usability improvements based on customer feedback. Updates address bulk line-item editing, invoice-adjustment responsiveness, export and download behavior, rich-text comments, tax-code visibility and mapping, pro forma actions, rejected pro forma voiding, expense activity/task codes, and selected integration data handling.
- Introduces more granular, role-based access controls for vendor users. These roles help protect sensitive information while supporting appropriate access across vendor organizations.
- Users can now be activated or deactivated from the Edit User window.

Unity ELM
- Users can define maximum approved rates by timekeeper classification for specific offices and areas of law or matter types. Rates that match the applicable card are approved automatically, and exceptions are flagged for review, so users can approve, adjust, or dispute them. Users can also schedule recurring rate card requests to vendors, track when cards were last requested and received, and send one-off requests as needed. For more information, see our Timekeeper Rate Review Rules and Timekeeper Settings user guide.
- Users can manage vendor portal user roles from within Unity ELM, giving them more control over vendor access and role assignments for Counsel Exchange vendors.
- Users can work in Unity ELM in their preferred language, with organization-level defaults and user-level overrides.
- Users can adjust invoice line items in bulk from the invoice details page instead of updating each line one at a time. Users can apply percentage-based changes to totals, rates, or units, or set totals or rates to a specific value. They can preview the results before saving, and completed changes are recorded in the invoice activity log.
Spend Agent
- Expense receipt validation now checks the content of attached receipts instead of only confirming that a receipt is present. Users can identify mismatches between the receipt and the claimed expense, including amount, date, vendor, claimant, duplicate receipt use, and unreadable receipts that require manual review.
Users can now interact with Spend Agent directly through Ask Unity using natural language. From the chat interface, users can review invoice violations, get adjustment recommendations, understand billing guideline decisions, and take actions such as approving invoices or applying adjustments.
Unity LSR
- Users can work in LSR in supported languages, with interface text and system emails shown in their selected language when translations are available. Numbers, currency, and timestamps follow each user's locale and time zone settings, so information appears in familiar formats. Note that this follows the same setting across Unity for all other Unity products.
- Users can use Ask Unity to get guidance from their company's knowledge base or create a legal service request, all in one experience. Guidance responses are grounded in available knowledge content. When a request is needed, Ask Unity guides the user through entering details, reviewing, and submitting, then provides a confirmation link once the request is created.
- Requests can be routed to named queues, so work reaches the right team instead of landing in a single shared intake pool. Teams can claim unassigned work or use automatic distribution.
Unity RFP
- Users can review historical RFP grid reports with filters for details like matter type, practice area, jurisdiction, owner, vendor, matter, and proposal period. These reports let users compare past outcomes and export results to CSV, Excel, or PDF. Users can also analyze vendor performance across RFPs with default vendor-level metrics and a drill-down to vendor by practice area. These reports show participation, win rate, bid amounts, cost reduction, scoring, and response time.
- Users can use Unity RFP in additional languages, namely German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. This expanded language support also applies to key areas such as custom picklists, email notifications, and tokens.
- Panel RFPs now include default junior, mid, and senior levels for both associate and partner staff classifications. Users can also customize staff classification options in RFP settings, including disabling default values and removing custom values when appropriate.
- Users can see automatic AI summaries for submitted RFP proposals that combine response data, fees, staffing, risks, and question answers in a single review panel (Note: for users that enable the feature).
- Users can use AI to generate firm-level summaries and follow-up responses based on submitted RFP proposals. The conversational interface lets users ask targeted questions while keeping the current RFP context in view.
Ask Unity
- Users can now open linked pages for matters, timekeepers, invoices, budgets, and vendors directly from relevant areas in Ask Unity. This makes it easier to move from information to the related record without manually searching for it.
- Ask Unity now reflects ELM data more quickly, so users can get answers based on more current information instead of waiting for a daily refresh. This is especially helpful for time-sensitive questions about invoices, budgets, matters, and other records.
- Users can now use Ask Unity as a single chat experience for legal service requests, including creating requests, checking status, analyzing request data, and asking product how-to questions. LSR queries continue to respect user access permissions, and users can export supported results in common file formats.
- Users can now ask Spend Agent questions and make data requests more fully through chat. This expands Ask Unity so users can work with Spend Agent information directly in the chat experience.
- Users can now use Ask Unity for RFP-related conversations, including product how-to questions and natural-language data queries. RFP results respect user permissions, and supported query results can be visualized and exported in common formats.
- Users can now save prompts from conversations and reuse them later without rebuilding the same request each time. Saved prompts are personal to the user, can be edited or deleted, and remain available across sessions and pages.
Unity Legal Holds
- Users can work in Legal Holds in additional languages (French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish). Localized text and regional formatting are also better supported, so the application behaves more consistently for multilingual users.
- Legal Holds now includes additional capabilities previously available in OnitX. Users can save a draft notice as a new template, manage employee change notifications and custodian reporting schedules, send custodian hold digests, save and resume survey responses, allow survey response revisions when enabled, and add participants to private legal holds to give them access.

Apptitude
- Updated Unity components for CLM and Legal Service Requests (LSR) give users a more consistent view of progress, hierarchies, lifecycle metrics, and in-product status messages.
- Several new App Widgets put the most important information and actions front and center for users. These options include:
- Phase Widgets, showing a clear progress tracker of where a record is in its lifecycle.
- Custom Toast Widgets, showing short, timely alerts above the record, such as "Document is processing," "Signature complete," or "Extraction failed."
Liquid Table Widgets, showing related information in a simple table, such as contacts, negotiation history or line items. Columns can be plain text or clickable links that open in a new tab. When there is nothing to display, the table shows a custom message.
Group Widgets, combining several Summary, Message, Quick Link, and Liquid Table Widgets into one collapsible section, such as "Matter Overview."
- Improved App Builder and Counsel Exchange synchronization adds guardrails to help prevent invalid updates from creating sync issues, boosting data consistency for invoices, rates, and related records.
