Earlier in 2025, we announced our self-service initiative to provide capabilities for self-managing of EBilling.Space. With this latest release, we have added the following features:
- Disabling and deletion for staff users
- Global Blocking for staff users
- Resend authentication E-Mail for Law Firms
Disabling and Deletion for Staff Users
In our May release, we implemented disabling and deleting law firms and law firm users. With this release, we have extended this to manage staff users:
- To delete if these accounts have never been active in EB.S
- If you want to prevent these accounts from continuing to use EB.S.
Please note that these features are only available to administrators.
Deletion of Staff Users
EB.S now allows deleting staff users from the system. Please note that this is only possible if there is no data history in EB.S, i.e., these accounts do not have data records such as Matter connections or invoice approvals in EB.S.
EB.S will automatically check whether deletion is possible. If this is the case, then the delete button will be displayed as follows:
When you click this button, you will receive a confirmation prompt.
Please note: If the staff user tries to log into EB.S, he will receive the following message on the login page:
"Please note that your account has been deactivated. You can no longer log in to EB.S. For information, please contact your administrator."
Disabling Staff Users
You now also have the option to disable staff users and thus prevent them from accessing EB.S again. The disabling only prevents logging in, i.e., logging in to EB.S, and the disabled user won’t get any Notifications from EB.S anymore. Reactivation is possible at any time.
To disable a staff user, please proceed as follows:
- Open Settings > Staff
- Now you see a table with all staff users. On each row in the "Options" column, you see the following new buttons:
3. When you click on this button, you will receive a prompt to confirm.
Global Blocking for Staff Users
Staff users who are no longer with the company or the legal department are currently shown as valid user accounts in the entire system. So, if you create a Matter, those users are still provided for selection, which leads to conflicts. This will be prevented when you block a user.
Impact of Blocking
With this release, staff users can be blocked so that EB.S no longer shows them in the user selection fields. Those users are hidden.
The following sections of EB.S are affected:
- Matter creation and Matter settings
- RFP creation and settings
- Groups creation and editing
- Workflow allocation
- Invoice Workflow
- Matter Approval Workflow
- Proxy settings
- Survey creation and editing
Please note:
- These features are only available to administrators.
- If an employee to be blocked is part of an invoice or project approval workflow, then it is necessary to replace this employee with another employee in the workflow settings. Otherwise, there is a risk that the workflow will not work correctly.
Several customers have reported that they want to get more information from the staff users page and the staff user details page.

New Staff users page:
When a lawyer from a law firm cannot log in to EB.S anymore, they often contact their Clients or support to get help. This, of course, takes time, and the lawyer cannot use the EB.S during this time.
Administrators can now send an authentication email to the lawyer containing a link to the EB.S "forgot password" page. The lawyer can fill in a new password and then authenticate and log in to EB.S again.
For this, do the following:
- Open the menu Sourcing > Law Firms > ‘Law Firm name’ or Sourcing > Lawyers.
- In the options column, there’s the new BACK button: ‘Resend authentication E-Mail’ as follows:
Here you see the Law Firms detail page:
3. With click, the admin user gets this popup message:
4.With "‘Yes," the Mail will be sent to the selected lawyer
Several customers have reported that they want to hide the Admin users from the user dropdown list when releasing an invoice.
For this, we improved the following for the invoice workflow setup:
- Go to Settings > Invoice Workflow
- You can now select the user role when you configure an invoice workflow step as follows:
3.When saved, only the users from the selected role will be shown in the user dropdown list on the invoice page.
