With eBilling.Space, there is no need to install any additional software on your computer; you only need a computer with a modern internet browser installed and your login details for using the application.
Accessing the Application
BusyLamp will send you a welcome email inviting you to join the system (please check your junk folder if it has not been received). This email will contain a link and temporary password, giving you access to eBilling.Space for the first time.
SSO and E-Mail and Password
Your organisation may have elected to link eBilling.Space to your internal SSO (single sign-on) to provide added security. If so, users cannot access the application using their email address and password or change their password within eBilling.Space; all login and password management will occur through the internal SSO.
Login to eBilling.Space (without SSO)
To begin, open your web browser and navigate to the eBilling.Space login page and enter your E-Mail address and password. Click on "Login":
Now with MFA, an additional authentication step is required:
SMS One-Time Password (OTP) – Default Method
After entering your username and password:
- You will automatically receive an SMS containing a one-time password (OTP)
- The OTP is valid for approximately 15 minutes
- Note: The mobile phone number must be saved in your user profile for SMS authentication to work
If no mobile number is on file, SMS authentication will not be available, and email authentication must be used instead.
Didn't receive the SMS?
Click the "If you have not received the OTP, click here to receive a new one" option to request a new code.
Email Authentication
If you prefer to authenticate by email:
- Click Use email authentication on the MFA screen. This view opens:
- An email containing a secure, time-limited authentication link will be sent to your registered email address
- Open the email and click the link to complete your login
Didn't receive the email?
Click the "Otherwise, click here to receive a new one" option to resend the authentication email.
"Welcome and First Steps"
Completing the process outlined in "Welcome and First Steps" is essential to gaining full access to the application.
External Law Firms
External lawyers must be assigned to an existing matter within eBillling.Space. Click on the "Invite Lawyer" button within the matter to issue the initial invitation email to the lawyer, who will then follow the same "Welcome and First Steps" process.
Set Up Your Mobile Phone Number in eB.S
To receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS, you must add a mobile phone number to your user account:
- Open your account details. Click on your name at the top-right, or Navigate to Settings > Details.
- Enter your phone number in the Phone field.
- Click Save.
Once your mobile number is saved, the next time you log in to eB.S, you will receive your OTP via SMS.

eBilling.Space is a SAAS (Software as a Service) application that works on every browser. However, we have optimized the look and feel of our application for the following web browsers:

Please contact BusyLamp Support if you have any difficulties accessing or viewing eBilling.Space.
Create or Reset Password
NOTE: The following guidance will not apply to organisations that use SSO (single sign-on) to access eBilling.Space.
You have two ways to change your password. You can access the Change Password screen by either:
a) clicking on Settings on the left-hand screen tab and then Details
b) Clicking on your Account name (the blue name text) on the upper-right-hand side of the screen.
Both will bring you the Account Details section; scroll down to the Change Password section.
Passwords must be longer than 10 characters and contain at least one letter (both lower and upper case), one symbol, and one number.
Forgot your password? Just click Forgot your password on the login screen. From there, you'll be prompted to enter your email address and receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
eB.S and MFA - Background Information
As part of Onit’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your legal data, we have expanded our Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requirements.
Effective since February 2026, MFA is required for all licensed user accounts.
Why does this matter?
Legal teams manage highly sensitive information - privileged communications, regulatory filings, contract data, and personal information. Password-only access is no longer sufficient to protect against threats such as credential phishing, account takeovers, and unauthorized third-party access.
By expanding MFA:
- We add an additional verification layer beyond passwords, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access
- We help ensure consistent protection across internal users and external law firms and other external collaborators if applicable
- We align with widely accepted security and compliance expectations for legal and regulated environments
This update is designed to strengthen security without disrupting existing access models where strong controls (such as SSO) are already in place.
When does MFA apply?
Client users authenticated via Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Clients who already use SSO will not be required to use MFA as MFA enforcement continues to be managed through your identity provider.
Law firm access models
- Law Firm users that authenticate via the client’s SSO are not impacted.
- All other law firm users that authenticate using username and password credentials are required to use MFA.
Enforcement and Delivery
When MFA is triggered:
- If a user has a mobile number saved to his user account in eB.S, a one-time code is sent via SMS (powered by Twilio).
- If no mobile number is available, the user receives an email containing a temporary secure login link.
At this time, there are no user-selectable MFA preferences or fallback options.
MFA FAQ
Legal matters involve confidential, privileged, and regulated data. MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access caused by stolen or reused passwords and aligns with standard security expectations across legal and professional services.
Yes. MFA applies to all users in both legal department and law firms who authenticate with a username and password.Users who access the platform through a clients Single Sign-On (SSO) are not impacted.
At login, users will complete a second verification step:
- A one-time, time-limited code via SMS if a mobile number is on file, or
- A secure, time-limited login link sent by email if no mobile number is available
No. MFA does not require installing an authenticator app or additional software.
At this time, MFA methods are system-driven and based on the contact information on file. User-selectable preferences and fallback options are not currently available.
The MFA step adds only a few seconds to the login process and is designed to minimize disruption while significantly improving account security.
- Open your account details.
- Click on your name at the top-right, or Navigate to Settings > Details.
- Enter your phone number in the Phone field.
4. Click Save.
Who can users contact if they experience access issues?
Users should follow their standard client support or Onit support channels for assistance with login or MFA-related issues.
