As part of the Legal Holds Management 3.4 release, we have introduced some key features to allow more robust Preservation in Place for Microsoft.

Preservation in Place
- Utilize Microsoft Compliance Portal to Preserve Microsoft Email, Teams, and OneDrive Data
- OnitX Legal Holds Management now provides an additional Microsoft Preservation option for those clients with E5 licenses or E3 licenses with the eDiscovery modules.
- In the Legal Hold Settings App, the Microsoft Preservations Settings section features a new Microsoft Purview option for those clients with E5 licenses while clients with lower licenses will still be able to use the previous Microsoft Litigation Hold option. Only one option can be selected for each environment.
- When creating the Legal Hold, if Enable Microsoft Purview Preservation is enabled, users will be able to select to preserve the Mailbox data or OneDrive data. Both will be selected by default.
- The data location for all data preserved in Microsoft OneDrive will be displayed in the Microsoft OneDrive Location field in the Legal Hold Reports and the Custodians on Hold Report.
- When Microsoft Purview preservation is enabled, each Onit Legal Hold appears as a Case with the same name in Microsoft Purview.
Within each Case in Microsoft Purview, each Custodian appears as a Data Source. The locations column will show the location of the mailbox and OneDrive data preserved.

Issues Resolved
- Acknowledgement Reminder Template now contains an acknowledgement button by default.
- The Active Holds Excluding Silent field now calculating correctly.
- If a Custodian is already on hold and the same Custodian is added again by mistake, the Custodian will no longer receive a notification.
- When selecting individual custodians through Individual Custodians List, there is now validation when clicking Confirm Selection to warn the user if no Custodians have been selected.
- If a Custodian is Released from a Legal Hold and then Restored, Microsoft Purview may take up to 24 hours to restore the preservation of the Data Source and might require the user to manually Retry Hold Actions to resolve in Purview
- Legal Holds that are in 'Acknowledgments Created' phase are not displayed in Legal Hold Reports until their Notification is sent
- If a HTTP-409 network conflict error occurs, the preservation log will not receive an error message and will be blank for request execution status.
- If a User that is the Matter Manager for a Matter is deleted, the Matter Manager field for the Legal Hold will be empty and no Matter Manager will receive notifications.
- If a User adds a custodian after custodians notified phase through the 'More Actions' option or 'Revise Hold' option, the Preservation log records do not update automatically without a manual refresh.
