Auto-Apply Tag Templates to Folders

by Sigmarie Soto Updated on

To streamline the process of applying tags to documents, users can associate tag templates with specific folders in their contract repository so that they are automatically applied when files are uploaded.

You can quickly see which folders already have assigned templates by checking under the Templates column in the folder list. Any AI-applied templates display an AI icon next to the name for reference. This article covers how to assign tag templates to existing folders and while creating new folders.

IMPORTANT: A tag template must be assigned to a folder for auto-tagging to occur on uploaded files. Template changes are only applied to new or reprocessed files; the change is not automatically applied to existing files.

Assigning Templates to Existing Folders

1. Find the folder in the list view.

2. Click the ... (more) option under the Actions column and select Assign Template (or Change Template if a template is already assigned).

3. Choose one of the templates displayed in the preview list OR click See All Templates to select an option from the full list.

4. Click Save.

If template selected from preview list:

If selecting template from "See All Templates" modal:

Assigning Templates to New Folders

2. Type in the name of the folder and press enter/return on your keyboard.

3. Choose a tag template from the dropdown list.

4. Add remaining folders and assign templates, if applicable.

5. Click Create Folder(s) in the bottom-right corner.
