Word Add-In Environment Requirements

by Sigmarie Soto Updated on

The Word Add-In relies on a particular list of apps by their names. Names for these apps must be as indicated below. App IDs are not used in case they are not the same in an environment.

Any app to be configured with the Word Add-In must be built on the collection of Document apps. Namely, the following must be present:

  • Document
  • Document Version
  • Document Versions
  • Document Check-in
  • Document Check-out
  • Document Lock Status
  • Word Add-In Configuration
  • Word Add-In Key-Value Settings

Usage of some features rely on the following apps. If not present, the relevant features will not function and should be disabled by KVS:

  • Document Compare
  • Obligations
  • Field History

For Onit clause usage with the Word Add-In, the following app must be present:

  • Template Library

Using fields and tables rely on the Template Library KVS for those features. This means the Template Library must be configured to be used with the Word Add-In, but record creation can be disabled if desired.

User Group Permissions

At a minimum, users will require read-only access to all atoms in the Word Add-In Configuration and Word Add-In Key-Value Settings. These apps give the Word Add-In the context required to properly manage features. A User Group may also be recommended for the Template Library app to manage appropriate access to the clauses for the Clause Library.

The Word Add-In User Group in the default CLM configuration gives users a Requester role to the app.
