Assigning Users/Groups to Suites using a Group Preferences App
Updated onArticleYou may have different types of users who should see different data and Apps in Onit. For example, you may want to restrict users in the Finance group to only seeing certain Apps while users in the HR group should see a different set of apps. You can use a Group Preferences App to manage this.
Each Record in a Group Preferences App represents a group which can hold a set of preferences and properties, some of which revolve around Suites. Once set, group-level settings will automatically filter down to related records in a User Preferences Provider App (usually named User Profiles). Using this approach, each Record in the User Profiles App represents a user while each record in the Group Preferences App represents a group the two apps are connected using a parent/child relationship and field-level data is pushed from the group to its users via Actions and calculated fields.
There are three Suite elements that are commonly defined at the group-level:
- The user’s default Suite.
- The homepage that the user sees when they log in. This homepage is technically referred to as a Suite navigation item, which must live within the user’s default Suite. Normally this is set to be a Suite Dashboard which contains Widgets (as seen in the following screenshot).

Updated onArticleSubject: Exciting News: AI is coming to our contract reviews, with Onit Catalyst
Dear Colleagues,
I am thrilled to announce that [Company name] has purchased Onit's Catalyst Contract Review software to streamline our contract review process in Word. This innovative tool uses artificial intelligence to analyze contracts, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for improvement. In the coming weeks, we will work with Onit to configure AI-powered Playbooks, which apply our standards and preferences to enable the software to review and redline contracts, assess risk, automate actions, and assign tasks according to our policies.
To ensure a successful implementation, we have appointed [Legal Ops/Project Manager Leader's Name] as the project lead. Please be on the lookout for their emails, as their first task is to identify Subject Matter Experts and other colleagues interested in participating in the implementation process. Additionally, please keep an eye out for future communications from myself and [Legal Ops/Project Manager's name] to include progress updates and training opportunities, among other things.
We understand that contract review can be a time-consuming and complex process. With your assistance and input, Catalyst Contract Review will help us save time, reduce errors, and improve the quality of our contracts. Thank you for your support during this process.

Updated onArticleSubject: [Company] volunteers needed for our AI implementation (Catalyst Contract Review by Onit)
Dear Colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well. As [Executive Sponsor's Name] mentioned in [his/her/their] email sent on [date sent], I am the lead and main contact for this implementation project. To get started, I will be looking for Contract Review Subject Matter experts for [contract type(s)] as well as 1-2 additional volunteers to give input on building the Playbook and testing the Contract Review tool.
On average, Onit estimates that the time commitment will be 2-3 hours per week, for ~4-6 weeks per Playbook, although the time commitment may lessen as we get closer to completion. This work could include gathering documents to share with the Onit team, assisting in Playbook customization, and testing and providing feedback to Onit to refine the results.
If interested, please reply by EOD by [date] to let me know, and I will confirm our list of volunteers after we meet with Onit to finish planning the next steps of the implementation process.
We are excited about the possibilities Catalyst Contract Review offers and look forward to seeing the benefits it will bring to our work. Your input and support will be crucial to the success of this initiative.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Best regards,

Hi [IT team/Person],
As you may know, [Company] purchased the Catalyst Contract Review software, and we would like to begin implementation soon. Before we can begin, though, we need to get a few things done to make sure everything goes smoothly.
First, Catalyst Contract Review uses a Word Add-in to enable the attorneys or other users to complete their review within Word.
[Select the option(s) that apply to your org:]
[Please confirm that everyone in [groups using the tool] have the ability to download the add-in from the Microsoft store.]
[Please give [groups/individuals using the tool] temporary access to the Microsoft store to download the add-in.]
[Please confirm that IT will be able to push the add-in to all users by [date].]
[What is the proper process to get the Word Add-in deployed to [groups/individuals using the tool] by [date]?]
Additionally, please confirm that all of the domains listed on this page are on the safe list company-wide, to ensure the Add-in is not blocked by the firewall.
It is important that we have the Add-in installed and ready for use by [date], as we are planning to start implementation on [date].
Thanks for your help, please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
