Creating a Condition
Updated onArticleConditions can be attached to a Business Rule (to determine whether an Action should fire) or to a Button (to determine whether the Button should be displayed). Conditions can significantly enrich the business logic and workflow of an app, as they ensure that events will only occur when appropriate.
For example, a Condition might be used to add a participant to a Phase only if a contract_amount Field is over $10,000. Or, a Condition might ensure that a Button is only visible when a transaction is in an appropriate Phase of its overall lifecycle.
In most cases, Conditions use Liquid to evaluate whether an expression is true or false. If the Condition evaluates to true, then the Condition is satisfied.
Here is a preview of what you will be building:

Release Notes - March 2020
Updated onArticle- A new Action, Set Delegates for User, allows for delegations to be set and removed in a single step:
- Email of Delegator: the email address of the user who is delegating approval authority.
-
Emails of Delegate: a comma-separated list of the approval recipients.
This action sets the list of delegates, so if the Delegator had any other delegates previously, and they're not in this list, they lose their authority.
Both fields support Liquid.

Updated onArticle- App Designer will now warn you of unsaved changes before allowing you to navigate away from the page.
- App Designer will now prevent you from deleting a Condition being used in a Button, Action, or Business Rule.
- To help with organization, Conditions now have a 'Used In' section that alerts you where the Condition is being used.
- The 'Used In' section is now expanded by default.
- The 'Used In' section now allows you to expand Conditional Compound Actions and Looped Actions. Click on the name of the CCA or Looped Action to see the configuration in a popup window.
- Conditional Compound Actions now have an "Enabled" checkbox. Unchecking this box prevents the Action from being triggered by a Business Rule. This allows you to have individual control of all Actions within a Business Rule.
