How to Create an Embedded Grid

by David Goldfarb Updated on

Embedded Grid Forms allow users to quickly edit records directly from the App Dashboard.

Before We Start...

This tutorial will assume you understand the following concepts:

Let's Get Started!

  1. Click the 'Create Form' button on the Forms page to open the Create Form pop-up.
  2. Select Embedded Grid Form as the Form type.
  3. Name the Embedded Grid Form.
  4. Click the 'Create' button. You will be taken to the Editor page of the Embedded Grid Form that you just created.

Adjust the number of columns to best suit the number of Fields you added to the canvas by clicking on the Number of Columns dropdown and selecting a number between 1-5. The number of Rows you see on the canvas will auto-adjust based on the number of columns. In the example below, when the number of columns changes from 4 to 2 the number of rows changes from 2 to 3.

We recommend adding no more than 12 Fields to an embedded grid.

Preview what the Embedded Grid Form will look like before clicking the 'Publish' button. In the example below, the Published version has four columns and the Draft version has two columns.

Go to Form Assignments and select the Embedded Grid Form that you published so it will be available by default on the App Dashboard.

If you want to select a different Embedded Grid Form, first click the 'Remove' button to remove the selected Embedded Grid Form.

Using the Embedded Grid Form from the App Dashboard, users can quickly edit record Fields.
